Trading SOP

Standard Trading Operating Procedures

Advanced Riding Techniques Ltd operate a professional, secure but fun environment to learn in. As such we have in place procedures to keep our customers and staff safe but also to uphold the high reputation we have worked very hard since 1996 to achieve.

  • At the forefront of our service is respect and understanding for all our customers and staff. Any person that does not show the same understanding and respect to any of our staff at any point, will be refused any further bookings or dealings with us.

  • We cannot make any proxy bookings for anyone over the age of 18. We must speak to the person taking the course to take all their details and to ensure they understand and agree to our terms and conditions and understand fully what they are undertaking. For minors aged 16 or 17 then a parent may contact us to discuss their requirements with their permission. For bookings for another person then you can purchase gift vouchers, these start from £50.

  • Payment must be made to secure any course and date. Many of our courses are available to book online. Our booking system is ‘live’ so all the courses are up to date. There is no facility to reserve bookings in any other way.

  • On all our courses the ability to ride a motorcycle safely is at the forefront of everything we do. When attending your lesson if you have not been truthful with us about your ability, then your instructor will stop the motorcycle or scooter lesson on safety grounds and you will be asked to demonstrate balance, ability on a bicycle before continuing. We have several sizes of bicycle available at the school to do this with.

  • All safety equipment provided by us on any training course is cleaned and sanitised before it is issued. We can offer sizes from XS to XXXL. Anything outside of this size range will need to be provided by yourself. Please contact us if you are not sure on size and we will arrange a fitting.

  • If you have never ridden or you're at all nervous or apprehensive, then our best advice is to book and a 90 minute 1:1 lesson before booking a C.B.T. course. This will also alleviate you from paying any insurance excess right through any training with us. Our insurance excess is up to the first £750 of any damage or claim that is found to be your fault.

  • All of our CBT courses are run at a maximum of two students with one instructor for THE WHOLE DAY!, not just the afternoon. Always ask before booking elsewhere how many people on the course? It is "normal" to have 3 or 4 students with one instructor for the off road session (the most important bit!) with a 2nd instructor just coming in to do the road ride in the afternoon!

  • Bookings for any full licence courses will only take place after the two following simple steps have been taken.
One:  Passing the motorcycle theory test and supplying us with the pass certificate number.
Two:  Complete either a C.B.T. course or 90 minute, 1:1 assessment lesson with one of our instructors.
There are no exceptions to these two simple conditions and we do not want to take any money from you until we are assured that the correct training course is being booked. If you are happy to pay others money without them first looking at what you require as an individual and the standards & equipment that are being offered, then this is completely your choice.

  • Finally, all our courses are run from our purpose built, fully DV.S.A. approved (including all the roads in the local area) 7 day a week training school based at Woodlands training school, Wallage Lane, Rowfant, RH10 4NE, to ensure your safety and the highest training standards. Please remember our safe off-road area is available for you to practice on every single day, not just weekends! All our courses include all the fuel for the duration of the course.
